SAASSO recently released its 2010 Federal Election Submission for Public Education.

The five priorities in the submission are critical to the quality of education we afford our children; with each priority requiring a national policy.

As we head toward a national education system, it is vital we concurrently refocus on our schools as part of our local community; ensuring every school meets the individual needs of its students.

Issues outlined in this submission include:

• Local Governance
• Teacher Quality
• Performance Pay
• Literacy and Numeracy
• Special Needs Education
